Spring is finally here! Spring is by far my favorite season because of the amazing weather, fashion, and overall joy that surrounds the season. This spring I have some necessities to complete my spring fashion. 
Let's start with shoes. I love myself some heels, but I cannot always wear them if I'm in a rush. That is where flats come in. This pair is super cute with the bow to add some extra style points. I often go with a pair of loafers or nice flats,  but either would complete any look. I have also shown some super cute tie-up espadrilles. I recently found some espadrilles for Lauren Ralph Lauren and they look amazing with any outfit, and add an instant spring/summer aura to any outfit. These espadrilles are really nice as they lace up and have a nice heel for extra height. 
Next let's a-ddress the dress( I know the pun was stupid, but kinda funny). I love white dresses during spring and summer because they look so classic and sweet on everyone. This white dress is perfect because it is plain so you are able to accessorize without any conflict. Continuing with the idea of simplicity a clear gloss is great for spring when you want to have some light color, with tinted lip balm, but not the full coverage that you would get from lipstick.
Talking about accessories, there are so many options in spring to accessorize. Using plain and classic pieces in an outfit allows for an unlimited amount of choices for bracelets and earrings. I tend to gravitate towards clean cut or vintage earrings and bangle-like bracelets. Sunglasses are for the entire year, but this pair is super Audrey Hepburn which makes me love it so much more. Sunglasses are great not only for keeping out the sun, but also to pull together your outfit. I usually pick a pair that has darker lenses and tortoise shell.
To wrap it all together the perfect bag can make or break an outfit. This white bag by is great and does not distract form the outfit. I am currently using a light tan/brown cross body, but it really depends on your personal style for what bag you have. 
Despite my spring must-haves the only thing an outfit really needs is confidence.

Dress- This dress is super cute,  and the bow adds a contemporary feel to the otherwise classic shirt dress and maintains a light and airy canvas for the rest of the outfit. This is a really good example of the perfect spring or summer white dress. It would look good on many different body types and accentuates the waist which centers the outfit, but it could always be substituted with any other dress. This is a preppy essential because of its timeless style that would look great on a lot of people.
Earrings-These earrings add some detail to the outfit without distracting from the wonderful person they are on. They could be substituted for earrings of a different color that is more flattering on the individual. These earrings are a preppy essential because of its ability to add detail while being subtle.  
Sunglasses- These sunglasses are very Jackie O while being very contemporary with the slight cat eye. These sunglasses are a preppy essential because of its amazing tortoise shell and classic shape, but they would be able to be substituted for sunglasses that would be more flattering to the individual wearing them.
Makeup (Eyeshadow, Lipstick)- This makeup is very subtle yet still adds some glitter and shine to the outfit, these could be substituted for makeup of a color more flattering to the person wearing it. This is a preppy essential because of it everyday ability to add a little extra to an outfit. 
Accessories- The watch is super cute and practical and does not distract from the outfit, but adds detail to the outfit as a whole. The bag is large and adds some extra structure to this relatively "loose" outfit. The nail polish and perfume are little extra things that add some indivuality into the outfit and create the entire aura surrounding a preppy outfit. These accessories are preppy essential because of their classic feel and timeless beauty. They could all be switched to individualize the outfit.
Personality/Motto- This cute quote adds to the personality surrounding the preppy outfit because we all know preppy is a state of mind and a style.

 Don't: Over Accessorize, this is not the best example (I did not have that much room). Not only does it look a little ridiculous when I see people with five bracelets that are not meant for stacking, but if you have to take some off during the day you might lose a really expensive ring or any jewelry for that matter. Also it usually makes tons of noise (clinky bracelets or chime like earrings along with whatever other five pounds of jewelry you have on). Don't look like the entire store of Claire’s got sick and vomited glitter on you.
Do: Add some shimmer and glimmer with a bracelet and some earrings, or some bangles.

This January I have multiple show stopping nail colors that I cannot put down.
Burberry Military Red- I choose this color because not only does it remind me of Christmas, but it also is a shade of red that empowers me every time I look down.
Essie After Sex- This deep shimmer would look great against any skin tone and still maintains an appropriate look.
Essie Wicked- Towards the end of this January I am going to go see Wicked, and this color goes perfectly with its name. The color is deep but does not look too Goth. It is a nice refresher to the intense glitter seen during New Years.
Deborah Lippman Razzle Dazzle- Talk about sparkle, this nail polish combines the shocking color of Wicked and the glitter of Tassel Shaker.
Essie Bordeaux- This nail polish is like the children's pool version of Essie's Wicked. This dark red would be perfect for any occasion.
Essie Tassel Shaker- The last, but not least, of the nail polish picks for this month is Essie Tassel Shaker. This stunning beauty can wow at any party, and it is one of my favorites.

This set represents what I would like to achieve in the New Year, let me elaborate.
Bathing Suit- This represents how I want to be comfortable in my own body and be able to wear a cute bathing suit without feeling self conscious.
Tory Burch Shoes- These shoes show an effort to bring my personal style into my everyday wardrobe. While I may be able to put together sets online, I would like to be able to do the same thing in my everyday outfits. (or at least attempt to be coordinated)
Prada Purse and Roman Luxe Earrings- These two items both represent how I would like to be more confident in the New Year. The glitter on the bag and the pure beauty of the earrings reflect courage, I hope to let my personality shine this year.
Gucci Cross- This cross necklace represents how I would like to grow my relationship with God in the New Year.
Tortoise Glasses-These tortoise glasses represent how I would like to read more in the New Year. (I already have a long list of new books to enjoy)
Nars Lip Makeup and Tory Burch Perfume- These beauty products represent my goal of wanting to bring a little bit of a beauty routine in my life, often times I forget to put on perfume or lipgloss. In the New Year I would like to create a balanced and simplistic routine.

Overall in the next year I would like to focus on the small details of my life, but at the same time I would like to help others less fortunate than I. Maybe by volunteering or even by smiling at a person having a bad day, I challenge all of you reading to do two things, one for yourself, and one for someone else.
